Community Shredding Events

What: Have your confidential documents shredded by the professional staff at Keystone Mobile Shredding every Friday starting on April 18th. Protect yourself from ID Theft and help a local charity at the same time - $5/box and proceeds will benefit local charities. Documents include medical records, tax forms, financial statements, employment records, and personal papers. Witness the shredding process and know that your information is securely destroyed before you leave.

Easter Egg Hunt

What: Hop on down the bunny trail to meet the Easter Bunny and enjoy the annual Easter Egg Hunt presented by the Masons of Watsontown Lodge #401. In addition to the traditional egg hunt there will be prizes for all ages, food and drinks and the opportunity to have your picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Pennsylvania College of Technology Centennial Colloquia Series

What: Google Meets Aldo Leopold: Information, Technology, and 21st-Century Environmental Ethics.

When: Tuesday, April 22, at 7 p.m.

Where: The Klump Academic Center Auditorium on the Main Campus of Penn College.

Audubon Program

What: The Lycoming Audubon Society will present a program entitled "Monitoring Snowy Owls, Nomads of the Arctic". Dr. Jean-Francois Therrien will review his recent research regarding the movement and reproduction of Snowy Owls from the high Arctic.  Using a slide show, he will show fieldwork situations and how he managed to monitor these highly mobile and unpredictable predatory birds throughout consecutive years, in this remote and hostile environment.  Dr. Therrien joined the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary as Senior Research Biologist in September 2011, and is now working on various aspects of raptor conservation science.  This involves satellite tracking of Peregrine Falcons, Turkey Vultures and Snowy Owls, monitoring American kestrel breeding populations and monitoring North American migratory raptors passing over the Sanctuary.  

When: April 23, 2014 Chapter meeting begins at 6 pm with the program commencing at 6:30 pm

Where: The program is free and open to the public at the James V. Brown Library (Lowry Room on the third floor of the Welch Wing), 19 E. Fourth Street Williamsport (parking off Market St.)  Seating may be limited given the expected popularity of this program - so come early to insure your spot.

Steam Valley Spring Farm Tour

What: Tour the farm to see the unique fiber goats and sheep raised at Steam Valley Fiber Farm. Enjoy the Colored Angora Goat kids and Border Leicester lambs at play. Watch Spinning Demonstrations as fiber artists turn wool into yarn. The Newberry Community Partnership

Highway Clean Up

What: The Kiwanis Club of Williamsport meets. Members of the public are welcome to join the Club at its weekly meeting. Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time.

When: Each Thursday at noon.

Where: Genetti Hotel in downtown Williamsport.

Support Group

What: Friends and Family Support Group. This Support Group is for people with Mental Illnesses and people who support people dealing with Mental Illnesses.

When: Mondays from 6 to 8 p.m.

Where: The Beacon Hub Drop-In Center via the Memorial Ave. entrance of the Pajama Factory. Second Floor Studio 40.

Support Group

What: Meeting group for all those with RSD/CRPS and those with questions about this pain syndrome.

When: Second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.

Where: Divine Providence Hospital, Private Dining Room in the Lower Level.

Support Group

What: SOSL — Survivors of Suicide Loss.

When: Third Thursday of the month from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Where: Winter Room at the James V. Brown Library in downtown Williamsport.

Concerned Citizens

What: Jersey Shore Concerned Citizens Association meetings.

When: Second Tuesday of every month from 7 to 8 p.m.

Where: Independent Hose Co. Social Hall, Pennsylvania Ave., Jersey Shore.

Nar-Anon Meetings

What: Williamsport Area Nar-Anon Family Group meetings.

When: Every Monday from 7 to 8 p.m.

Where: Newberry Church of Christ, 822 Diamond St., Williamsport.

When: Every Wednesday from 7 to 8:15 p.m.

Where: Greenview Alliance Church, 1955 Warrensville Rd., Montoursville. Child Care available.
