Anniversary Spaghetti Dinner

What: A Spaghetti and Meatball Supper will be held to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Loyalsock Valley Elementary School featuring Spaghetti and meatballs, roll, salad, beverage and dessert. Proceeds benefit Loyalsock Valley PTO. Tickets are $7. Baskets, Bags & Bears Bingo

What: Little League’s Intentional Walkers Relay for Life team is sponsoring a unique bingo events that features Longaberger Baskets, Vera Bradley Bags, and Boyd’s Bears items among other prizes donated by area businesses.  Door prizes, raffles, 50/50, special games and other surprises offered.  Lunch will be available at this smoke-fee event. Soup and Bread Sale

Soup Sale

What: Watsontown United Methodist Church will hold a Soup Sale featuring Chicken Noodle Soup and Chili. Cost is $5.00/quart. Soup can be ordered by calling 538-1119 or 538-9666. Deadline for orders: Wednesday, February 3.

Senior Citizen Lunches

What: Our Saviour Episcopal Church will offer Senior Citizen Lunches featuring Soup, sandwiches, dessert and coffee will be served.  All seniors are welcome!  Free-will donations are accepted.

When: Second Tuesday of the month, starting on February 9 at 12 noon. Dates for upcoming lunches are March 9, April 13, May 11 and June 8.

Anxiety Workshop

B.E.A.L. Meeting

What: The Bald Eagle Art League February meeting will feature Kathleen Shifflet presenting on Decorative Gourds

When: Thursday February 4 at 7:15 p.m. 

Where: B.E.A.L.’s new location at the Pajama Factory (the old Weldon building. The new meeting room is located on the first floor, Rose Street side near the Eagle Rock Winery.

February Book Review Luncheon

What: The Friends of the JV Brown Library will host the next Book Review Luncheon featuring Ned Coates, retired Penn College professor of communications, language, and humanities, including courses in American Indian literature, cultures and issues. He will be speaking on the book And Grandma Said …Iroquois Teachings as Passed Down Through the Oral Tradition by Tom Porter (Sakokwenionkwas) a Mohawk Bear Clan Elder and internationally known spokesperson and revitalizer of Iroquois language and culture. The public is invited to attend. A light lunch will be served at noon for which reservations must be made by Wednesday, February 3 before 3 p.m. For lunch reservations you should call the library at 326-0536 and ask for information services. The lunches cost $5. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own lunches from home or local take-out.  The talk will begin at 12:30 p.m. and those not wanting lunch are welcome to attend.

Tribute Band

Public Reading

What: The Sullivan County Council on the Arts has scheduled a public reading for this year’s Roving Historical Theater play, "Northwest Passage." The play focuses on Elkland and Fox Townships, ranging from the first settlers in 1800 to the Depression of the 1930s. Volunteer actors, stage hands welcome. No experience necessary. Art Exhibits...

The Art of Romance

What: The Pajama Factory will present "The Art of Romance" featuring the fruits of 30 artisan and creative studios; more than 20 local merchants specializing in catering, flowers, music, apparel, and unique gifts; a chocolate and wine pairing presentation at the Eagle Rock Winery; and DJs and dancing.

When: Fri., Feb. 5 beginning at 5 p.m. Music continues to 10 p.m.

Where: Pajama Factory, 1307 Park Ave., Williamsport.

CH'ARTS

What: The gallery will feature artwork from Mrs. Julie Hammond's Cochran Elementary art students.

When: Opening reception Friday, Feb. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. Exhibit will run for approximately one month.

Where: Plankenhorn Stationery Supply Store, 144 West Fourth St., Williamsport.

Ceramics Exhibit

What: The Gallery at Penn College will host "Cipher," a collection of ceramic works by Shalya Marsh. All exhibits are free and open to the public.

When: Through Feb 9. Gallery hours are Saturday and Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 2 to 8 p.m.; and Wednesday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ride the Lightning
